Warshock girls celebrate their friend Brian’s birthday with a group of boys from the Diskarte and Silac gangs next to the rocky seawall, a popular nightspot for teens living in the densely populated squatter settlement of Agdao, Philippines. Agdao, home to many of the city’s gangs, is also a hunting ground for vigilantes who have killed 215 people–including 20 minors–since 1998. Many of the victims were ex-street children who had police records or belonged to gangs.
